Final PreparationOver the weeks since our successes in Sweden, the team have been going over everything to make sure our performance is the best it can be for the Finals. The points are tight so we need to be on top form for the final meeting. With not even a round between Micke and us there is no room for mistakes. The crew were debating about testing at the peak performance day which actually took place yesterday, but with two crew members down and not wanting to shoot ourselves in the foot by damaging parts so close to the meeting we decided not to. Although the chance to test would have been helpful to gain a bit more data and almost a head start on the qualifying, we are confident we will do well without it. We've qualified well all season (2 number one positionsand one number 3) and with our success in Sweden, one of the best moments of the meeting was coming away with very littledamage so we feel in a very good position to keep hold of the number one in the championship. Of course anything can happenup until that final race and this year the championship is close - there are 3 to 5 people who could possibly take the title should the worst happen. In preparation for the biggest meeting of the year the team started early and took the whole engine apart. We checked through all the parts, which helped the team see if there was any kind of wear and tear, and any clues to see if there was any damage, which had not been noticed between rounds in Sweden. Parts such as pistons and rods were also changed so the engine was fresh for the first run next week. The gearbox and clutch was also taken out and checked over, and everything was cleaned so it was spotless. Theteam have spoken about tactics, set ups, fuel settings, clutch settings and pretty much everything involved with the car so we can be on top form for the Finals. Overall the crew are really happy with how things went; there were no surprises and nothing to be alarmed about which is always good!! We've got the car ready for that first run on Friday and we can't wait!! If your around the pits drop in and see us in action, come show us your support, we'll be flying the British flag, and if all goes to plan taking the FIA championship title at our home track!! Please pray for good weather.

A Consistant Veidec FestivalA great performance from the team this weekend. The Studebaker consistantly ran 6.20's and 6.30's, was No.1 qualfier with a 6.22, and met Micke Gullqvist in the final. We were second in the Swedish Championship and extended our lead at the top of the FIA table. However the biggest suprise in the Robinson pits was how few parts the Stude had consumed. With (finally) some good weather enabling us to finish the meet, it meant Pro Mod could put on an exilerating show with some very close races. See here for the full Veidec report

Looking Ahead to the Veidec FestivalMantorp Park is a track which we really enjoy racing at, with a great track, facilities, track crew and very friendly locals. With only a slim lead in the points we knew that if the weather was good for us, then this meeting would be make or break for our Championship hopes. With the championship being so close virtually any crew could go top if they win the meet.So we needed to be on top form.

Success In Finland
Unfortunately it seemed we took the good old English weather with us. The Saturday morning rain pushed all the qualifing into the afternoon/evening and most of Sunday was a wash out, meaning very few opportunities to race. But after qualifing number one with a 6.34 and the meeting finishing after the first round, we found ourselves at the top of the championship. Although the points are very close so its still early days. See the full race report here

Preparation for the Nitro Nationals
After the success at the Summer Nationals, the team get ready to travel to Finland. With the damaged fixed, Andy set off with the car yesterday with a fairly long trip ahead of him. We all have our fingers crossed for some good weather, as the UK rounds have been slightly disappointing weather wise, and we are yet to see the potential of the Pro Mod field. If the weather holds out, we should see some good numbers from the 23 pro mod entries, three of those being UK racers. With the way the championship is looking at the moment, anyone could come out on top after this meet, but we will definately be giving it our all.

Summer nationals two weeks away
The next meeting the Summer Nationals is only two weeks away! Very exciting. This is only a two day meeting which means that our great performance in the Main Event qualifying will really pay off if we can carry on in the same way. We will of course be going for number one and winning the round. Which would gain us number one in the MSA British Pro Mod Championship. However it is also important that we don’t break anything before the next FIA meeting in Finland, so this will also be our last test session before then.
We’re hoping to see some really fast numbers after the tease at the Main Event. With fast cars like Danny, Gordon (both build by Andy Robinson Race Cars) and Mark Meihuizen and up and coming teams such as Bert Englefield and Kevin Slyfield there will be some good Pro Mod racing!! The Robinson Race team are very much looking forward to it with hopefully good weather!!

Main event rained out
The Main Event was a huge disappointment. We got two qualifying runs and that’s it!! With two stout numbers, tireshake solved and still room for improvement we were all gutted about sitting in the trailer watching the rain pour down, non stop from Saturday night. Lets hope the Summer Nationals brings us better weather. After the Main Event we were 3rd in the points, one point behind Urban. Not bad however because we all only have qualifying points we have loads of fast cars very close on our tail, we’ll have to kick ass in Finland to gain a distinctive lead!

First FIA meeting coming up
The Main Event is very close now and the RRC team are very excited but very nervous too. We have done a lot of work for this meeting to ensure that we can get rid of the vicious tireshake we suffered from at Easter. We know the weather forecast is looking poor so we have to make the first qualifying run count!! We don’t want a repeat of last years DNQ!
